About The First Tee of Shawnee County

Looking for a fun, free opportunity that offers more than the average junior golf experience?  You’ve come to the right place!

We offer summer camps, spring clinics, after school programs, and Saturday sessions for kids ages 7 – 18.  One of our best features?  It’s FREE for most families.  At Community Action, home of The First Tee of Shawnee County, we fight poverty, so bringing life skills to your children at a cost anyone can afford is part of our mission. Another great feature is that kids learn from trained professionals.  So whether they’re working on improving their golf swing, or benefiting from exposure to the 9 CORE VALUES, we know your child will be in the care of experts.  It’s so much fun, they aren’t likely to realize how good it is for them!

Most of our programming operates in Topeka from Forbes Golf Course, a 9-hole public facility of Shawnee County Parks and Recreation. A fantastic practice area, which includes a driving range and putting and chipping areas, offers Shawnee County kids an excellent place to learn and develop golf skills while actively enhancing life skills and core values.

Remember – Children ages 7-18 can join The First Tee of Shawnee County at no cost. Equipment, access to the golf course and all learning opportunities are provided when they enter our Life Skills Program.
